Hatim is Chief Executive Officer for Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex, part of the NHS Health Innovation Network.  Alongside this role, he continues to practice as a General Practitioner.

In 2018, Hatim was appointed National Medical Directors Clinical Fellow to Professor Wendy Reid by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. His key achievements were co-author and member of the Sir Keith Pearson Commission into NHS Staff and Learner Mental Health and co-founding the ‘Topol Programme for Digital Health Fellowships’ launched by Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in 2019. He later became the National Clinical Lead for AI and Digital Workforce at NHS England providing clinical leadership to the NHS Digital Academy and leading on AI in the NHS’s historic Long Term Workforce Plan.

Hatim studied Medicine at the prestigious Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, going on to complete a Masters in Sports and Exercise from the University of South Wales, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Health Leadership from Imperial College London. Hatim holds Membership of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics and the Royal College of General Practitioners, as well as Fellowship of Advance Higher Education.

Hatim has been a Senior Lecturer at Brunel University London, supporting the Physician Associate MSc and development of Brunel Medical School. Hatim is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at Keele University, working with European partners to develop a Masters in Explainable AI in healthcare management. Hatim is also a member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Technology Appraisals Committee, and the Coalition for Health AI Steering Committee.

Hatim is an advocate for safe, ethical and responsible digital and AI transformation and ensuring workforce preparedness for new innovations and technologies in health and care. He regularly speaks internationally and has contributed to the publication of academic papers and white papers spanning workforce, education reform, primary care, digital health and AI.

Outside of work Hatim enjoys travelling and football, and you will likely find him touring England’s best restaurants with his family. 

Debra is President of the Institute of Biomedical Science, Clinical Pathology Service Manager at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and a chartered scientist.

In her role as IBMS President, Debra is dedicated to the promotion, development and delivery of excellence in all aspects of biomedical science and is committed to providing the highest levels of service to patients and the public. In her ten years as an IBMS Council member, she has advocated, listened, represented and addressed the issues that are most important to IBMS membership at national, regional and local levels.

Debra became IBMS President in 2022 after a career covering 24 years working in clinical NHS laboratories. She is an advocate for workforce development, innovation in healthcare and continuous quality improvement.

Her current roles encompass the provision of leadership and management with accountability for the delivery of cost effective, high quality, safe and sustainable services across the Northumbria and the wider health economy. These responsibilities give her a strategic insight to deliver operational priorities both for her own Trust and those of National programmes.

Her professional activities include Lead Healthcare Scientist for NHCT, Pathology Network Operational Lead for North East and North Cumbria ICS, committee member for BSI ISO 15189 mirror committee and STEM ambassador.

Simon is an accomplished professional with over 20 years’ experience across life science and med tech sectors. Prior to his role at Informed Genomics, he held key leadership roles in prominent healthcare organisations, helping to deliver significant growth and disruption to busy markets.

As CEO at Informed Genomics, Simon is passionate about building and developing partnerships between the public and private sectors to help drive accessibility to genomic testing, improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of clinical genomics.

I am Director of the Self-Care Academic Research Unit (SCARU) at Imperial College London, Director & Trustee of the International Self-Care Foundation & Trustee of the Self-Care Forum. I am a fellow of WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education & Training, the Primary Care Theme Lead for NIHR Diagnostic Evidence Co-operative London & General Manager of the Directorate of Public Health at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As of April 2024, I also assumed the role of Advanced Research Fellow in Social Care one day a week.

My principal aim is to help accelerate the widespread adoption & diffusion of evidence-based self-care & self-driven healthcare interventions to promote health & wellbeing.

I sit on various expert groups & panels, including the Digital Health London Expert Panel on Evidence Generation & the Innovate UK Global Expert Mission on Digital Heath Technologies. I am also Chair of the  Research Pathfinders Group dedicated to spearheading research in NHS & non-NHS settings. I am Principal Investigator of various national studies on NIHR portfolio, including the Measuring Loneliness in the UK (INTERACT) study, which is the largest study in the world on loneliness.

After completing my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Digital Forensics, I gained practical experience by working on cases for several police forces across the UK and serving as an Expert Witness in court. After several years of acquiring this experience, I began teaching the next generation at the National Cyber Security Academy. As a Senior Lecturer in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, I taught various modules ranging from level 5 to 7, such as ‘Digital Forensic Techniques,’ ‘Mobile Device Forensics,’ ‘Emerging Technologies and Digital Forensics,’ and ‘Secure Operations and Incident Management.’ During this time, I also led the master’s programs in Applied Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. This experience is contributing to my PhD research, which focuses on enhancing DFIR (Digital Forensic Incident Response) capabilities in the healthcare industry.

I commenced my career in the National Health Service (NHS) in 1996 at Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital (CNDRH) as a Theatre Support worker. After being there for a short while I successfully applied for the ODP training and qualified in 1998. After qualifying, I stayed at CNDRH for a short period prior to leaving and working as a locum for a number of years. In 2005, I took a permanent position as a Senior ODP in cardio-thoracic at the Northern General Hospital (NGH), in Sheffield. Over the proceeding years, I was promoted to Clinical Procurement Specialist and then finally Theatre Manager. Whilst at the NGH I had a shift in my career towards safety, risk, and medical equipment. In April 2016, I commenced my employment at the Royal Derby Hospital as the theatre lead. During my employment, we went through a merger with Queens Hospital Burton to become UHDB. In 2021, my job role changed to concentrate more on Quality, Risk and Safety and this is what led me to commence a PhD.

I am passionate about patient safety in the operating theatres and trying to understand why harm and never events still occur is something that interests me a great deal. Since July 2021, when I commenced my studies, I have published three articles. The articles were on the following subjects,
